Marika Koskimäki-Ketelä lives in a small ranch
(with no caddle :)) in westcoast Finland, in Ilmajoki with her husband,
son and two german shepherds. She is a Calligrapher, photographer,
mixedmedia artists and a teacher.
Marika has studied calligraphy and visual arts many years in different
schools and with various teachers. At the moment she is finishing her BA
of Calligraphic arts at Kankaanpaa; Satakunnan Ammattikorkeakoulu,
Finland.
On April she was selected in to ATS program, which is three year
calligraphy program and organized by The Society of Scribes &
Illuminators, England.
She studied at Roehampton University, Calligraphy Correspondence Course
with Hazel Dolby (2005-2007).
Other calligraphers / teachers at her calligraphic path have been; Veiko
Kespersaks, Hazel Dolby, Sue Hufton, Thomas Ingmire, Margaret Daubney,
Ewan Clayton, Denis Brown, Linnea Lundquist, Ward Dunham, Gillian
Hazeldine and Cherrell Avery, along with other art teachers.
She has teached calligraphy over ten years and continues to have
workshops for different of topics. At the moment she is the Chairman of
Calligraphy Society in Finland.
Her work has been published in arts and crafts magazines in Finland and
also, in USA at Somerset Studio magazine (2010 and 2011). She lived in
California few years with her family. During that period of her life she
got to know to artists and calligraphers in the USA. These days she
lives in Finland, Europe, but travels every year to California to meet
friends and colleagues.
